Within the Financial Services Industry, investment advisory firms often have a limited number of licenses for certain software applications. Users within the company tend to have these programs open, to secure their license, but are not actively using them. This results is the firm having to purchase additional, over-priced, software licenses.

Software Activity Tracker (SWAT) monitors the idle time for processes running on client workstations and optimizes software license usage. SWAT will terminate any process that is inactive for a defined amount of time. For example, if you have an application that is limited in the number of licenses, SWAT will monitor who is idle for the determined amount of time, and after that time terminate the process, freeing it up for someone else to use. This eliminates the need for purchasing extra, over-priced, software licenses.
